(MCT Release) The Manitoba Curling Tour 2008-09 schedule has been finalized. It will consist of 16 events, plus the MCT Championships, January 2-4th, 2009, at the Morris Curling Club.

The six-sheet Morris club has conducted a regular event (formerly the Enns Brothers Classic) on the tour since its inception. In addition to the MCT Championships, it will continue this coming season with the Morris Curling Classic December 5-7th, and will hold a new event, the '09-10 MCT Launch Bonspiel from March 20-23rd, 2009.

An event in Brandon will return to the tour, the $35,000 Manitoba Lotteries Cash Spiel, October 10-13th, at the Brandon Curling Club, being organized by Scott Ramsay. Another new cashspiel on the tour is the Carberry King Spud Classic for men and women with $9,600 and $4,800 purses, October 16-19th, under the guidance of Kelly Marnoch and Berry Buurma.

The East St. Paul Curling Club, the site of the Scotties Berth Bonspiel for women, November 14-17th, will not be holding its annual cashspiel this coming season.

The largest cash events on the tour will continue to be the Meyers Norris Penny Prairie Classic for men in Portage, and the women's Casinos of Winnipeg Classic at the Fort Rouge Curling Club.
