Former Manitoba Ladies Curling Association staff member Ruth Crook was inducted May 4 into the Manitoba Curling Hall of Fame as a Builder of the sport in the province.

Working with the former MLCA, Crook's part-time job was based in her home basement in 1970. By 1980, the job and her role as a leader of the MLCA had grown to the point where she helped them establish their first permanent office.

She retired from the MLCA in 1985, after 15 years of service.

Crook's award was presented by MCA President Dale Brooks (left) and Hall of Fame President Fred Sutton (centre).
